roller fitting astec b.1000 for museum showcases
goldkammer frankfurt is a museum on the history and significance of gold. an appealing aesthetic – down to the last detail – was a primary concern during its planning and construction. this led to the installation of the astec b.1000 roller fitting in the rothschild chamber, one of the most important exhibit halls. several gold bars are presented in alcoves covered in red silk and protected by frameless glass sliding doors with visible fittings. thanks to the nearly inaudible guide track of the astec b.1000 roller fitting, these glass elements appear to be floating above the floor during opening and closing.
